My mom often buys presents with a certain theme in mind. Sometimes we all get one of these particular items. Three guesses what this year's theme/item was.

Those were our snowboarding masks of course. All good suggestions of course, but nope.
Yes, they keep crickets as pets. Some raise them to fight, the particular taxi driver I encountered didn’t however. But he would bathe it! Doesn’t that strike you as just a bit odd? I don’t even bathe my dog! Well, the groomer does...
The cricket holders are really neat actually. They are intricately carved wooden “jars” with holes for air. I do not collect crickets officially per se, but spend some time around my house in the middle of the summer and you might think otherwise.
What struck me as the oddest part of the whole incident was that on the same day that I found a cricket holder, I ride in a taxi with a guy who raises crickets. The other countless taxi rides, no cricket guy, go figure...
